Immersion Program

Internship

What tools will I have access to? 
We will share some of our common therapeutic food plans, intake forms, handouts and more. In addition, we will share our favorite labs and how to set up relationships with these labs. 

Will I have the opportunity to observe appointments? 

The program includes pre-recorded observations of four appointments conducted with two patients at our practice.

Will I get practice creating treatment plans? 

There will be five opportunities within the program to create and discuss treatment plans for our patients.There will also be additional (optional) opportunities to create treatment plans. 

When will the live meetings take place? 

Live meetings will be held on Mondays from 4:00pm to 5:30pm (PST) via Zoom. If you can't attend, you can submit your questions  in advance. Recordings of the meetings uploaded within 24 hours for you to review.

What will happen during the live Zoom meetings? 
We will discuss the weekly topics, answer participants’ questions, and guide group discussions. 

What happens if I miss a meeting? 
All live meetings will be recorded and uploaded within 24 hours for you to review. 

Can I earn CNS hours through this program? 
Yes! You'll have the opportunity to earn 120 hours during this program, based on full participation. There will also be opportunities to earn additional hours at your discretion. 

How can I earn additional CNS hours? 

Participants can review additional patient cases and create evidence-based treatment plans, meal plans, as well as writing articles for additional CNS hours. Participants can also attend additional live appointments with patients to earn additional CNS hours.

Can I earn CE credits through this program?
Yes! The Board for Certification of Nutrition Specialists, the certifying arm of the American Nutrition Association (ANA), designates this activity for a maximum of 42 continuing education credits for the Certified Nutrition Specialist.

Will there be an opportunity to earn additional hours in the future? 

Yes! Megan Barnett, MS, CNS, will be offering additional opportunities for supervision hours after the completion of this program. 

Can I do the Clinical Nutrition Immersion Program more than once (to get more hours)?
Yes, there will be opportunities to continue supervision with Megan Barnett after the completion of this program.

How much does the program cost?
The 12-week program costs $2,500, but there's a 10% discount if you sign up by Aug. 1, 2023.

Can I pay in installments?
Yes, at checkout you can choose to pay in installments rather than pay in full. If you choose to pay in 5 installments, you'll pay one installment when you register for the course, then four additional monthly payments.

What if I refer a friend?
For every friend you refer who enrolls in the program, you'll receive $100. If three of your friends enroll, you'll receive $300.

How long do I have access to the materials in this program?
You have access for up to 12 months from the start date of the program.

What if I decide the program’s not for me after I enroll? Can I get a refund?
You may cancel the course and get a full refund if you notify us by email at [email protected] within 10 days of the start of class. After that date, the enrollment fee is non-refundable.


Is it a paid internship?
No, it is an unpaid internship, but you'll gain valuable experience and exposure.

Can I earn CNS hours?

Not right now, but we're in the process of developing opportunities for interns to earn CNS hours in the future. Send us an email if this is of interest to you so we can notify you when CNS hours are possible.

Do I have to be a student to apply?
No you can be a graduate of a Masters in Nutrition program, or a current student.

Do I need to live in the Portland area?

No. Our internships are offered virtually, but if you live in the Portland area, there will be some in-person opportunities for you to participate in.

What's the difference between the internship and the Clinical Nutrition Immersion Program?

The internship program is an opportunity to gain exposure into a thriving nutrition and functional medicine practice. The CNIP is an opportunity to dive deep into how we practice from beginning to end and gives you access to all of our tools and resources to take with you into your practice.
